This section provides key documents and weblinks relating to the Research and Evaluation activities of the CCM Demonstrator programme. As part of the
shared learning theme the Demonstrators have also produced a number of innovative Learning Papers which document the work they have produced to date. Thirty-five papers have been written which include key areas such as Information Management and Technology, Locality Care Co-ordination and the development of Advanced Community Nurse Practitioners. All Wales Alliance for Research and Development in Health and Social Care (AWARD)
AWARD is part of the
Clinical Research Collaboration Cymru (CRC Cymru), funded by the Welsh Assembly Government through
WORD. AWARD works closely with all parts of the collaboration; including the
Thematic Research Networks and the
Infrastructure Support Services.
Involving People
Involving People has been set up to support and encourage patient, service user and carer involvement in health and social care research in Wales. They encourage involvement in research by:co-ordinating opportunities for patients, carers and service users to get involved, providing information, support and training; providing researchers with advice on best practice and linking them with patients, carers, service users who are prepared and willing to get involved.
National Institute for Health Research
The National Institute for Health Research is now established as a part of the Government's strategy, 'Best Research for Best Health'. They are committed to establishing the NHS as an internationally recognised centre of research excellence through supporting outstanding individuals, working in world-class facilities, conducting leading-edge research focused on the needs of patients and the public.
National Research Ethics Service
The National Research Ethics Service has a dual mission: to protect the rights, safety, dignity and well-being of research participants; and to facilitate and promote ethical research that is of potential benefit to participants, science and society.
NHS Evidence
NHS Evidence allows everyone working in health and social care to access a wide range of health information to help them deliver quality patient care. Launched in April 2009, NHS Evidence has a fast, free and easy to use search engine to help users search for the information they want; ranks search results from credible medical sources according to relevance and quality;allows users to personalise a search and register to receive the latest health information; awards an Accreditation Mark to organisations who meet high quality standards in developing health information.
